Guide

How many photographs fit in a 20-page album.

Between sixty and a hundred, depending on how many full-bleed images you want. Here is how to count.

Pages, spreads and photographs

An album has 20 pages, which is 10 spreads. Every extra spread is added on request: $15 for 20 × 20, $20 for 25 × 25 and $25 for 30 × 30 cm. An album can grow to 40 spreads.

On a spread, one photograph can fill both pages, or several can share them. The editor has layouts for any number of photographs from one to twenty-four on a spread, so the count follows the story and not the template.

A rule of thumb

  • One to three photographs per spread reads as an album; four or more reads as a contact sheet.
  • Give the strongest frames a whole page, or a whole spread.
  • Run a panorama across the fold on the 30 × 30 cm size, where the spread is widest.
  • Let a few spreads hold six or more small frames, as a pause between big ones.

If you have more

Add spreads in the editor before you order. After approval and payment the layout cannot change, so decide before you approve.

Selling albums to clients

You pay us per album and charge your client whatever you decide. Our prices never appear in front of them.

How client approval works

The client sees the album, says yes, and the layout is locked. Nothing changes between the yes and the print.
